Federal Loan Repayment opportunities

There are three federal pots of money.  All loans use the same application, but you can only apply to ONE program.

• National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment (RN not eligible)

• National Health Service Corps Substance Use Disorder (Dental not eligible)

• National Health Service Corps Rural Community Loan Repayment (Dental not eligible)

Nurse Practitioners may also consider:

• National Nurse Corps Loan Repayment program

You will need to review the website, determine which loan to apply for, and then create an account and begin an application.  Once you decide, applications become available as early as December each year.

Missouri State Loan Repayment opportunities

Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services have two options for loan repayment:

• Nurse Loan Repayment Program (NLRP) awards qualified Registered and Advanced Practice Nurses in Missouri.

• Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP): awards Health Professionals, Physicians, Dentists, and Psychiatrists in Missouri.

Applications are accepted from January 1 to March 1, each calendar year.

You will need the following documentation from HCC:

​

• A copy of your employment contract for the proposed practice site for a period of no less than two (2) years. (Brook)

• A list of services provided by your employer. (Amanda)

• A copy of your official job description (Brook)

• A letter of support/recommendation from your employer or a copy of your latest performance appraisal. (Brook)

 

You will need to provide:

• A copy of your professional license.

• Proof of qualifying, outstanding educational debt.

• A copy of your most recent credit report.
